What

In 2015, GE launched an initiative to align its brand with, and support, the flourishing Middle East startup ecosystem. It chose the region’s premier entrepreneur news site Wamda to deliver the message.

The result was a three-year campaign based around bespoke research, a digital media platform backed by social media marketing, and a calendar of events.

I wrote accompanying articles around advanced manufacturing, the industrial internet, Internet of Things, healthcare, clean technology, oil and gas, transportation and the future of work in Saudi Arabia, UAE, Egypt, Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria, Lebanon, and Jordan.


 
 

Result

The media campaign developed a sticky audience in Morocco, Egypt, Algeria, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Lebanon and Jordon.

  • Total monthly engagements: 0 to150k+ within three months

  • Social media engagements: 400k

  • Gender reach: 50%+ women readers
